Who We Are

We are a club for athletes in grades 6 – 12 who are interested in riding off-road and racing. Our teams include Madison West, Madison Memorial and Verona district boundaries (and all middle schools that feed into these schools). In addition, we also have team members from Edgewood, Wingra as well as home school athletes who live within the above school district boundaries.

We welcome all skill levels, and encourage riding bikes as a lifelong activity. Education, safety, new friends, and FUN lead the way to improving skills with the opportunity to race if kids are interested.

We are a member of the Wisconsin Cycling League which is part of the The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). All rides are lead by coaches who are background checked, trained and certified by NICA and have wilderness first aid or higher training.

We Love Riding

Mountain Biking provides a great alternative team environment and an opportunity to build skills and confidence in a unique way. Riders will learn basic through advanced skills including braking, shifting, body position, cornering, ascending, descending, and obstacles. Riders will also learn good bike path and trail etiquette, pre-race nutrition, and race strategies. There are no try-outs, nobody sits the bench, all riders are welcome.

We are a “cross country” mountain biking team, not an extreme sport. There is no reckless riding. We ride in small groups with 6-8 riders of similar skills led by 1-2 coaches. Ensuring the right mix of challenge and fun. All athletes have the opportunity to race and all the athletes contribute to the team. Not everyone races but we encourage all athletes and their families to attend at least one race.

Parents ride too! As the team grows we need parents to help on trail rides! Contact a coach for more details.
